This study examines the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) on organizational human capital and proposes an approach for assessing the effectiveness of its development. Based on a critical analysis of domestic and international research, human capital is considered through knowledge, skills, experience, motivation, and health, while its effectiveness is evaluated using productivity, innovation, employee satisfaction, and organizational adaptability. The study identifies digitalization and AI as major factors transforming employee competencies, labor-market requirements, work organization, and human capital management. Particular attention is given to automation, digital skills, flexible employment, staff training, and the changing role of employees in technology-intensive environments. An integrated assessment approach is proposed that incorporates weighted indicators and allows organizations to adapt their evaluation criteria to industry characteristics, organizational size, and strategic objectives. The study also proposes formulas for assessing human capital efficiency and its development over time, including the influence of risk factors. The findings emphasize the importance of continuous investment in employee competencies and organizational adaptability under ongoing digital transformation.

Keywords: human capital, digitalization, artificial intelligence, efficiency, competencies, labor market
