In the previous studies oil and gas prospects of sedimentary deposits in-between Kura and Qabirri rivers were examined on the base of general works conducted in Ganja and Muradkhanly oil and gas bearing regions and were extrapolated to the region.

On the base of systematization and compilation of scientific articles, drilling and geophysical results and information the analysis of litho-facial and structural-tectonic characteristics was conducted; characteristics and influence of disruptive faults revealed on the surface of the Upper-Chalk deposits were clarified; future forecasting of regional oil and gas prospects was conducted.

As a result it can be concluded that in the entire studied region deep Upper-Chalk deposits have the highest perspectivity for future geological exploration operations, however now a day from the economic point of view this direction is regarded as complicated.
