10 sections have been studied and 16 zones have been defined in the Paleogene deposits of the Central Gobustan-West Absheron area. Three new zones of them have been determined and new zonal scheme has been drawn on the basis of these data. The composition of the zonal complexes and changes in them have been characterized in detail. New zonal scheme has been compared with zonal schemes of the Paleogene deposits’ dissection of the North Caucasus.
