Isomorphism in natural and synthetic pyroxenes

Research of structures of one of the major rock-forming minerals, pyroxene and their species allowed proving the nature of their structural typomorphic forms. The classification of pyroxene by metal cations located in the M2 position was refined. On the basis of a stable chemical composition of pyroxene and their synthetic analogues the interaction of components is studied in binary and ternary systems and determined the nature of izo- and heterovalence isomorphic substitution. It was found that in the process of isomorphic substitution changing of concentrations of the components are aimed at ensuring the electrical neutrality of the structure. For the first time on the chemical composition of structural and polymorphic forms of pyroxene the crystal chemical features of mixed structures were justified.
