The paper gives the results of the experiments on the influence of drop volume vibration upon specific surface energy at the boundary surface of a hydrocarbon fluid-water system. The experiments performed show that when the drop volume of a hydrocarbon fluid is small it takes more energy to change the specific surface energy at the boundary surface of the system and to bring the above system to unsteady state than in the case when the drops are of larger size. In this case, for each hydrocarbon fluid-water system the process of bringing drops of various volume to the unsteady state and tearing the drops off the capillar takes place within the narrow range of vibration frequency, that is typical both for the given system and for the acceleration of vibration.
