In article influence of shaliness, carbonate content of the porous media and grain texture of porous media on a vertical rise of water, water solutions of the surface-active substances and hydrocarbon liquids have been experimentally considered. The water from Caspian Sea, highly purified non-polar kerosene and oil from “The Mud Salse” field have been used as operating liquids. In experiments synthesised non-ionogenic AF-12 and non-polluting wood ashes served as water-soluble surface-active substances. Determination of the surface tension value on border with kerosene has shown that wood ashes solutions in comparison with AF-12 solutions are more active.

It has been established that clay hydration as a part of quartz sand and hydrophobicity increase of the porous media surface owing to carbonate compounds promotes positively vertical capillary rise of water and hydrocarbon liquid. Reduction of the boundary tension value of water owing to addition in it surface-active substances with hydrophyle properties also positively accelerates intensity of capillary absorbing and water rise value in a capillary. It is confirmed that reduction of the sand grains sizes in vertically installed capillary promotes additional rising of water and a hydrocarbon liquid.
