Study of seismic quasi-anisotropy of medium with hard acoustic layer

The results of studying on determination of mistake’s character of values of seismic velocity and effectiveness of its correction related with quasi-anisotropy on medium with hard acoustic layer are described in article. The difference of average velocities on 3D and VSP makes approximately -1 ÷ +7%, the difference of interval velocities makes -10 ÷ +27% in studied area in situ of deep well. Mistake of velocities related with seismic anisotropy makes 1 ÷ 3%. After correction on quasi-anisotropy using “Urupov–Dix” equation, the difference of average velocities on 3D and VSP makes approximately +2 ÷ +4%, the difference of layer velocities makes approximately -5 ÷ +14%. After correction on quasi-anisotropy, velocities on 3D had been brought to the velocities of VSP and as a result, the difference of average velocities of 3D and VSP makes no more higher than +1%. Correction of seismic velocities on quasi-anisotropy using “Urupov-Dix” equation is not enough effective in case of presence the layer with sharply differing acoustic hardness in studied area. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account the properties of mistakes on seismic quasi-anisotropy in construction of velocity model of medium.
