The paper deals with issues of the stratigraphic and deep confinedness of fluid-generation sources in the South-Caspian basin with application of the integrated pyrolytic, isotopic, biomarker studies of the kerogen and fluids. The autonomy of oil-and-gas generation sources is shown as well. Spatial and time evolution of fluid-generation sources, degree of realization of oil-and-gas producing potential of the sedimentary complexes are given with application of 3D basin modeling. On the base of integrated analysis one comes to conclusion that the Mesozoic complex basically generates the mature gas and metamorphogenic water fluid, but the Paleogene-Miocene complex – the whole range of fluids: oil-gas-dehydration water-metamorphogenic fluid.

High maturity of hydrocarbon gases from fields and mud volcanoes is due to mixing of gases of main zone of oil-and-gas generation of the Paleogene-Miocene source with highly mature gases generated by the Jurassic-Cretaceous sources.
