The climate of Absheronian as a whole was more damp and less continental, than now. There are 3 stages in Absheronian. 1. Early stage of the early Absheronian (1,8-1,6 mln.y.a.). It was characterized by warming, humidity, increase in transgression of Caspian Sea. 2. Late stage of early and average stages of the Middle Absheronian (1,6-1, 0 mln. y.a.). It was characterized by cold snap and aridization of climate and regress of the Caspian Sea, the last in the end of stage alternates with transgressions. 3. Late stage of Middle early and late stages of the later Absheronian (1,0-0,73 mln. y.a.). It was characterized by climate warming and transgression of the Caspian Sea.
