This article highlights the results of an experimental research on gravitational extraction of oil from porous media in the field of elastic waves. The experiments were conducted using 0.6 meter long vertical linear oil reservoir model consisting of quartz sand with air permeability 6.9 mcm2. The model was saturated with crude oil sample taken from Balakhany-Sabunchu-Ramana oil field.
Vertical design of the model allowed for demonstration of effect of gravitational forces at maximum level. Applying crude oil only for saturation of the model excluded the impact of capillary forces in these experiments. The results have shown the oil is being extracted from the vertical reservoir model during vibration treatment following both normal gravitational extraction and simultaneous impact of these 2 factors. This fact shows gravitational and vibration impacts work in one direction and not against each other. It should be noted that for the mentioned experiments the increase in vibration frequency as well as duration of application and the periodicity of vibration impact resulted in more effective oil extraction.
