The physicochemical interactions and characteristic of the sedimentary environment of the South-Caspian basin (SCB) on all stages of oil-gas ontogenesis according to the analysis of the achievements of the foreign researchers on the investigated problem are studied in this article. It is shown that evolution of SCB and accompanying its such natural processes, as non-equal compaction, formation of overpressures, diapirism and mud volcanism, active fluid dynamics, as well as formation of the commercial accumulations of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons, are reflected in physical and chemical features of fluids and its bearing strata.
