This article focuses on urgent problems of active manifestation of geotectonic processes for East Mediterranean Sea at the newest stage and further development of present geodynamic processes.
On the base of large material analysis on this region the following substantiated conclusions have been made: manifestation nature of plate tectonics in this region, accumulation of tensions and present geodynamic activity on GPS measurements data.
There are three zones on territory of Turkey and adjacent Aegean and Mediterranean Sea: Eastern, Central and western with typical directions of present horizontal movements: northwest, latitudinal and southwest. According to GPS monitoring data the Central zone moves away from Eastern one gradually, and Western from Central more intensively. This can be supported by high seismic activity.
