The upper Devonian deposits in the South Transcaucasus unlike the Lower and Middle Devonian deposits are spread excepting the west part of Nakhchyvan AR and on adjacent regions of Armenia as well.
The Upper Devonian is represented by two stages Frasnian and Famenian in successive sections of Transcaucasus Devonian deposits.
There are 2 brachiopod zones and 3 suites – Chrakhanian, Bagarsykh and Yajinian within Frasnian stage.
The other 6 suites are defined within Famenian stage: Noravanian, Ertichian, Kadrlian, Shamamidzorian, Hortunian and Arshakiakhburian; each substage (there are three substages) has two suites and each suite is represented within one brachiopod zone.
Here, in South Transcaucasus in successive sections of the Upper Devonian deposits all above-mentioned local stratigraphic subdivisions, mainly suites are correlated with simultaneous deposits of type sections in West Europe (Arden-Rhein area and Dinantian basin) and in many other Eurasian regions. This correlation scheme is attached to the paper.
