The Lower and Middle Devonian deposits of the South TransCaucasus are developed in western part of Nakhchyvan AR in Azerbaijan – on territory of Sharur and Sadarak regions. At present we have developed the scheme of local and zonal division of the Devonian deposits including the Lower and Middle Devonian deposits of studied region and defined 16 local stratigraphic subdivisions (suites and 20 biostratigraphic zones).
Here the Lower Devonian is represented by Emsian stage, we mark them as Sarajly suite which unites two brachiopod zones.
The Middle Devonian is represented by two stages: Eifelian and Givetian.
There are 6 brachiopod zones and such suites as Sharur, Veligorian (Arazdayan), Danzinian and Volchevorotian within Eifelian stage.
There are 4 brachiopod zones and 2 suites Sadarak and Arpachai within Givetian stage.
Biostratigraphic zones, suites and subsuites defined in successively bedded sections of the Lower and Middle Devonian deposits of Nakhchyvan AR are correlated with simultaneous deposits of type sections in West Europe (Arden and Eifel mountains) and many regions in Eurasia on the base of all fauna complex study, mainly brachiopods and conodonts. This correlation scheme is attached to the paper.
