The history of development of the Caspian Sea in early and middle Pleistocene is considered in the article. On the basis of complex analiysis it is determined that during the early and middle Pleistocene five fold changes in the level of Caspian took place. The first large-scale regression took place in Turkan age, large-scale transgression is marked in early Pleistocene (in the beginning of Baku age), the next reduction of the level takes place at the end of early Pleistocene, the next (second) transgression is observed at the beginning of middle Pleistocene, the third transgression took place in the first half of Khvalin epoch.
