Repeatability of hail phenomena in the territory of Azerbaijan

In this work on materials of supervision of 23 Hydrometeorological stations repeatability of hail in the various regions of Azerbaijan is investigated. It is shown, that the greatest repeatability of hail is observed in May – June. It is established, that the height of district not always renders essential influence on increase in frequency of hail phenomena, namely: it increases only in areas with favorable orographical factors. Here the main role is played with an exposition of the mountain ridge and their slopes in relation to a damp air stream. It is shown, that for the period 1971-2004 mid-annual repeatability of hail phenomena in comparison with the period 1928-1965 was considerably reduced. The assumption is put forward, that one of the reasons of reduction of repeatability of hail phenomena is appreciable downturn of average temperature of air in May, on a background of the common increase of mid-annual temperature of air. It is established, that observable on territory of Azerbaijan the common reduction of repeatability of hail phenomena basically is connected to reduction of quantity of less intensive hailstorm processes, and, hence, it essentially does not influence to the degrees of hail striking from such phenomena.
