Analysis of HC gases of mud volcanoes, oil fields, bottom sediments, gas hydrates of the South-Caspian depression proposed by M Shoell was made on the base of conceptual principles of HC gases isotope composition interpretation.
As a result of these studies there were made a conclusion, that gases were formed as a result of biogenic, thermocatalytic transformation of organic matter and associated with liquid hydrocarbons. Depending upon the studied object there were established differences in the isotope composition of carbon and hydrogen.
